很多人很難理解為什麼有一群人總是愛唱反調、頂嘴、講道理。

這不是一種時尚風格，而是一種自然反應，一種本能。

辯論員為了辯護一己立場，他們會使盡渾身解數說服你。

我們不是是非不分，祇是想要告訴你，我是而你非。

我們沒有不講道理，祇是想要告訴你，我才是真理。

我們並非厚顏無恥，祇是想要告訴你，我義無反顧。

你說莊子夢見蝴蝶，我說蝴蝶夢見莊子。

你說孩子不可以輸在起跑點上，我說孩子贏在起跑點在漫長人生路上未必勝出。

你說世界上最痛莫過於女人生孩子的痛，我說男人怕老婆的痛你不曾瞭解。

這就是辯論員。

辯論跟其他興趣不同，因為辯論的舞臺很有限。

你喜歡足球，每天傍晚一群人奔馳綠茵球場追逐一顆球，就可以很過癮。

你喜歡畫畫，在一張白紙上揮筆灑墨，隨時隨地妙筆生花。

但若你不幸地愛上辯論，訓練一整年，就祇是為了參加一個全中辯。

上了大專更寂寞，全辯還要兩年一次。

開始工作了，不論是當教練或評審，基本上都是退休辯手了，還有比賽讓你發揮嗎？

這些年來，不少人說過想要看到昔日校園辯手重返舞臺的賽事。

有多少人希望現役辯手能夠多參加比賽，不分國界或學校。

這個夢想在辯壇積累多年，但總是沒有人勇敢踏出第一步。

我們是平均年齡20歲的學生，嚷著辦一場國際賽事，大家都說我們不自量力。

但我們知道凡事量力而為就不會有突破。

我們相信被嘲笑的夢想更有實踐的價值。

我們祇想創造一個舞臺，讓那些已經沒有機會參加比賽的人，可以組成自己心目中的夢幻隊伍再次出賽，如此而已。

我們不歸屬於任何團體，也沒有任何財團支持，我們希望透過公眾集資完成我們的夢想。

這大概是一場史無前例的辯論賽。改寫歷史，總是需要大家支持的。

參賽隊伍：目前確定已有三十支辯論隊，分別來自馬來西亞、香港、澳門、中國、新加坡。

Perhaps most people can't really understand debaters.

They argue virtually every topic under the sky.

If you think quantitative easing is good, they would argue it harms the economy.

If you think multitasking trains a person to be professional, they would argue only specialisation can produce top talents.

Debaters challenge your statement and observe things from different perspectives.

They wanna prove themselves right, and earn a sense of satisfaction from whole debate process. If you ask why,

They would say the discovery of truth makes their effort worthwhile, and at the same time training themselves to be witty.

In fact, while they are debating, they too open the mind of their audiences.

Debaters should have their debate competition platforms once they left school.

They should be given more opportunities to debate, or more importantly, to engage audiences to rethink what is right or wrong in life.

They should have regular competitions, and all debaters are free to participate, regardless of nationality or academic background.

It has always been our dream to invite former debaters back on stage to debate like what they did during their old days in school.

With debate seniors are forming their own dream team, this is surely a competition worth watching live.

The passion for debate will be reignited.
